Chapter 1
Scripture Reading: Eph. 4:11-13; Acts 17:30
Hallelujah! We thank the Lord. I don’t know what your feeling is but our feeling is that it is always an honor to be able to participate in a young people’s conference. The Lord has given us a burden in these last six months. This burden is expressed in the title of the conference: Until we all arrive!
Until we all arrive is part of one of the deepest verses in the New Testament. Ephesians 4:11-13 unveil the great mystery regarding the building up of the church. We all need to receive revelation. The Lord has given us a great gift which is the Bible, the word of God. Hallelujah for the Bible! What an extraordinary gift was given to men. The Lord also gave us another gift, the Spirit! But we still need another gift: revelation regarding the Scriptures.
Besides receiving such a revelation, we all need to consider what is the vision and the burden of our generation. We have the revelation of the entire Bible that we inherited from those who have gone before us. Now we need to see where we are, where we are going, and what the Lord expects from each one of us. Many knew the Bible and received revelation from the Bible, but so far the Lord hasn’t finished His work. Certainly the Lord expects something from us. The Lord expects us to be a group of people who would rise up to finish what He desires.
Every time God wants to do something, He calls someone, speaking with him and giving him a word. In the Old Testament the Lord called Adam, Noah and others, but the first oracle of the Old Testament was neither Adam nor Noah. We don’t have any books written by Adam or Noah. The Lord had to wait to raise up someone who would be capable of receiving His revelation and transmitting it in a faithful way. Only then was He able to open His heart to a man. This man was Moses; he was faithful to serve in God’s house.
Every time the Lord raises an oracle, He wants to change the direction and this change of direction implies a change of mind. The best way to change our mind is repentance. For this last generation, God is bringing us a word to change our minds and our direction. In this young people’s conference, the Lord is calling us. This calling is to change our mind and to change our direction. The Lord needs to find what He is looking for. May He find it in each one of us. I hope none of us would take this speaking lightly. May the words spoken here be the controlling vision in our lives. We pray that all who are here and all those who hear these words would arrive! This is God’s heart: “Until we all arrive at the oneness of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, at a full-grown man, at the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” (Eph. 4:13b). May the Lord be able to complete this age and come back to receive His kingdom!
