Being Enlightened by the Word

1 John 1:1 says, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life.” This word, which is the Word and which is the Word of life, has a characteristic, that is that you can see, you can behold, and you can handle it with your hands. We desire that this word of life can become our experience as we see, behold and handle with our hands. Why do we encourage you all to call on the name of the Lord, to pray-read the word, to read the word, and to use your spirit to touch the Lord? So that all this can become a reality. And when this becomes a reality we can see.

Verse 2 says, “And the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us.” This life manifests itself. We have this life of God that can manifest itself so that we can be young people who conclude this age. God has given us this life so that it can be manifested.

Verse 3 continues, “That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” Why do we have a manifestation of negative things, of our sins and errors? Because we are lacking fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. When we exercise our spirit and when we touch the Word of God, we gain life and when we gain life we gain light. The light shows us our condition.

Verses 5 and 6 say, “And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth.” I have a question for you all, if you throw an aluminum can into an organic recycle bin, is this light? If we don’t have an answer it is because we have no light concerning this in our conscience. You may say, “I am full of the Spirit!” But if you disobey in these small things, you are not full of the Spirit, you are full of yourself. You may say, “I’m full of life!” But if you left a mess on the table, or covered up your mess, is this light?

Verses 7-8 continue, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin. If we say that we do not have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” I ask each one of you, don’t you do these kinds of things? Perhaps the things you do that bother the Lord are even smaller but we all need to pray and ask the Lord for forgiveness. Ask the Lord to enlighten you and to show you your condition. Let us pray to the Lord.
