He Who Believes, Out of His Innermost Being Shall Flow Rivers of Living Water

Chapter 2

You Have Kept the Good Wine until Now

Scripture Reading: John 2:7-11

Hallelujah for burning spirits! Praise the Lord for these messages. The Lord is speaking wonderful things to us. The organic ministry of John brings us back to the beginning. Hallelujah! The Lord is the One who wants to bring us back to the beginning. He wants to take us out of the realm of tradition, of knowledge, and of doctrines. He wants to introduce us into the realm of spirit and life. All the joy, all the enjoyment the Lord has given to us are fruits of this transfer. So saints, each one of us here needs to pray to the Lord. If there is something holding us back, hindering us from being transferred, we need to pray to the Lord, “Lord, transfer me. I don’t want to be in the meeting in a traditional way. I don’t want to be in the conference as I’ve always been. Lord, come and transfer me.” This transfer is to bring us back to the beginning.

Limitations to Going On

The Lord used the apostle John and the twelve apostles in the first century. In the beginning of the church life, He began the church in Jerusalem in a new and living way by the release of the spirit. He wanted to go on using the apostles to reach the uttermost part of the earth. But because of tradition, the Lord couldn’t continue to go on with that group of apostles, so the Lord raised up Paul.

Paul was a Pharisee (Saul), a young one who was very zealous for the law. He persecuted the church of God and he was blind regarding the things of God. But the Lord showed him His economy and used him to accomplish the revelation of God’s economy in the New Testament. However, those who received the word Paul was transmitting, received it in the realm of knowledge. So the end result of Paul’s labor was that many in Asia and elsewhere remained in the realm of knowledge, of the soul, and the word of God couldn’t go forward.

Message one was about the condition of the churches in Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. Each one of us need to consider before the Lord, in what way we have received the word of the Lord, how we’ve been responding to His speaking, and what has been the result of His speaking to us. It depends on what kind of realm we are in. If we are receiving the word of the Lord in a realm of tradition, for us it will be just one more conference, one more message, maybe one more studying of a book in the Bible. If we come to the conference just to gain more knowledge in the judicial realm, this shows that the Lord has no way to go on in us.

But Hallelujah, at the end of the first century the Lord had the apostle John who had three periods of his ministry. He went through a traditional, judicial period but then the Lord used another period of twenty years to separate John from that realm. Hallelujah! Those twenty years were a period of being transferred from tradition, doctrines, and dead letters, to enter into the realm of Spirit and life.
