Chapter 3
Scripture Reading: John 3:7-8, 34
Praise the Lord. Yesterday the Lord gave us a good beginning and I believe that He has spoken in a very strong way to each one of us. We praise the Lord for His speaking in this organic ministry in the gospel of John. We’ve seen that these words were recorded for us so that we might believe and that we might gain life. There are so many young people here and I believe that there are many in different conditions. But thank the Lord that in the writings of the Bible there are the writings of John. These writings conclude and finish the word of God. They mend the net by tying together all the books of the Bible allowing the Bible to become a book of life for us.
The tools we have today make the Bible a book of life. These tools are in the books of John and we have this key in our hands and in the writings of John. The Lord recorded the gospel of John showing us who the Word of God is. He shows us that the Word of God is God and he shows us what the Word did at that time. He also shows us that the Word Himself has not changed and what He can do today in you and in me.
It doesn’t matter what your condition is; there is a word of God for you. You can be full of death today but God can transform water into wine. You might have a lot of knowledge but the Lord through His word wants you to be born anew. You might be in a low condition but the Lord can change your life. He can save you. You might be paralyzed but the Lord can make you walk. You might be blind but the Lord can make you see. You might be dead but the Lord can resurrect you. It doesn’t matter what your condition is, the word of God can meet our every need. The word of God can do everything. Do you believe this? Hallelujah.
The life in this word makes us into sons of God. What miracle could be greater than this? We who were fallen creatures became sons of God. In Revelation, John speaks a lot about the testimony of Jesus. The testimony of Jesus is the church. We are the testimony of Jesus. God needs this reality today on this earth. It’s not a testimony about Jesus but it’s a testimony of Jesus. A testimony about Jesus means speaking about Jesus. Speaking about Jesus can be done by anyone. Even an unbeliever can speak about Jesus. But to be the testimony of Jesus means that Christ lives in me and my life is a testimony. Do you want to be a testimony of Jesus or do you want to be someone who gives a testimony about Jesus? Really? Then the Lord needs to move in your life and to operate in your innermost being.
We are having an organic study. What is an organic study? It’s a study that moves in our life. It’s not in the realm of doctrine or knowledge. God wants to change our life. God wants to change our person. He wants to give us His life, His word, His Spirit working in our inner being. This is organic. It moves you and changes you. If it doesn’t change you, it is only in your mind, it’s not organic.
We are here; we love the Lord; we receive the word; the Lord wants to change us deeply. How many messages have you listened to each year? If you attend one ministry meeting a week, that is fifty-two messages per year. If you add in the messages at international conferences and young people conferences and regional conferences, someone who meets regularly, listens to at least one hundred messages per year. I want to ask the following question. What have these one hundred messages changed in our lives? If each message had changed one point, one aspect of our life, in one year we would have a hundred aspects changed. After ten years in the church life, the Lord should have been able to change you in a thousand different ways or matters.
Even more, I want to touch your life because in an organic study the Lord wants to touch our life. I don’t want to talk about your behavior during the meeting, but I want to speak about the behavior at your house because at home you are what you are. Here you seem like you are one kind of person. But what you are is what you are at home inside your house. And now I would like to ask you a question. Inside your home, has someone ever told you, “You never change”? Has that happened? Something is not quite right; it’s not OK. The Lord wants to change this situation. That’s why we are in an organic study of John. He says we have to walk in a way acceptable to Him. The Lord wants to operate. Do you want the Lord to work in your being? Praise the Lord because in these messages the Lord has been giving us a way.
